Wild Life

It's hard, sometimes, in urban areas, to find access to nature. Not so in Portland. Forest Park, for example, is one of the largest urban forests in the United States, with 5,300 acres of land and more than 80 miles of trails. It makes sense, of course. Portland is known, among other things, for being green--and why wouldn't a city so proud of its eco-friendliness also provide easy access to untamed nature?

The following are just a few of Portland's destinations for hiking and wildlife:

  • Tyron Creek
  • Powell Butte
  • Council Crest
  • Forest Park
  • Washington Park
  • Mount Tabor
  • Pittock Mansion
