Visit Portland

Thinking of visiting? That's great! Here's some information that may be helpful.

Public Transit

It's easy to get around in Portland. TriMet offers bus lines as well as the MAX light rail, and the Portland Streetcar serves the downtown area. Tickets are affordably priced and, after spending a certain amount in one day, you earn a day pass and ride free the rest of the day.

Ticket Type 2-Hour Ticket Earn a day pass after spending:
TriMet (Adult) $2.50 $5
TriMet (Youth, Honored Citizen) $1.25 $2.50
Portland Streetcar (Adult) $2 $5
Portland Streetcar (Youth, Honored Citizen) $1 $2.50

What to Pack

No matter how you time your visit, there is one thing that can be guaranteed with almost absolute certainty: it will rain at some point. That said, Portland isn't often very cold, just wet. A lightweight rain jacket will do you well. Pack your hiking shoes, your willingness to embrace the weird, and a love of coffee, and you'll be just fine.
